Buddypress profile fields

I now see two mandatory fields in the registration process…. Country and Date of Birth.
Are these new with Buddypress and/or Kleo updates? How do I remove them from being mandatory fields.

No they are not. Go to WP Admin > Users > Profile Fields. Move the those two fields out of the Base (primary) group.
