can u change "add friend" too "follow"?

is it possible to change the add friends function too follow?
ive tried to add a follow plugin. But i did not work with the add friend function

Hello, just try translating buddypress with loco translate plugin, then search for add friend and change it for follow
Also if you dont see any change, try to find it at the theme too
