ParticipantEvery time I update the Sweetdate theme, I have to go into the Editor and manually edit the home_search_form.php file so I can have an Aweber opt-in box there. This only takes a minute.
After the latest update, however, I keep getting this error message:
Unable to communicate back with site to check for fatal errors, so the PHP change was reverted. You will need to upload your PHP file change by some other means, such as by using SFTP.
I was able to edit the file using Filezilla, but why is this happening? Is this going to happen every time I update the file?

ModeratorHello, please install a child theme and copy the file you are editing to the child theme following the same folder path as the main theme, like a mirror. This way with each update you wont need to edit it again, as the child theme works as an upper layer of the main theme, which is never updated, so it stores all your changes

ParticipantSo would the path in the Sweetdate Child Theme folder be either:
sweetdate-child >> page-parts >> home-search-form.php
or
sweetdate-child >> sweetdate >> page-parts >> home-search-form.php
I created the former, not the latter…
