Change Avatar Button Profile Page

Hello Support,

With regard to the “Change Avatar” sub-menu button on a profile page. May you tell me where the code is that generates the text of this button? Been searching for it for ages and I just cant find it 🙁

Hello,
The best way is to translate Buddypress plugin into English and rename that string the way you want. Because comes from Buddypress you won’t find it in the theme.

I didn’t see the point of installing a new plugin to only change one line of text. So, if anyone wants to do the same, I found a way – however, it involves changing the core files. The file is called bp-xprofile-loader.php and can be found under this path:

Http;//www.yoursite.com/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-xprofile

Around line 204 and 259 you will find the text “Change Avatar”, I simply replaced both with “Change Profile Photo”.

Hello, that plugin is just to generate the .mo file. After that you can remove the plugin
It isn’t a good way to modify core files because they will be gone after a plugin update
