Hi there.  I, as many I see here, seem to have a lot of issues with spam registrations. I have a captcha field on my register page (http://potatoesandrice.com/register/), but I’m guessing people are getting in via the signup popup when you click the signup button at the very top of the page (which has no captcha).

So, I’m wondering….first of all…assuming my register page is protected from spam registration, could that signup button be directed to this page rather than the signup popup which has no captcha?  Or, is there an easy way to set up captcha on the signup pop-up?

I’m thinking my preference would be to have the signup button go directly to the register page.

    Thoughts?

    Abe

Hello, you can make the sign up button redirect to the register page if you want to, check: https://archived.seventhqueen.com/forums/topic/checkout-page-paypal-greyed-out/#post-98773

    Hi there.

I tried this, however I don’t seem to have a separate page to direct to so users can login. Currently it is a popup. I guess I don’t know if spammers are getting to my site via the login popup or the sign-up pop-up. I can set the sign-up button to go to my register page, but don’t see how to re-direct the login popup?

    Thanks,
    Abe

Hello, spammers register by buddypress directory, not popup, they go to your /register page, you need to prevent spam signups using buddypress no captcha recaptcha plugin

Thanks – I have added the buddypress no captcha recaptcha plugin – hopefully this will resolve the spamming 🙂

    Thanks again,
