October 14, 2017 at 18:05 #176641Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
I have logged in and found the following
– Only a free membership level was created, I have added a dummy level for now with a value of $1.00 for testing, please create the premium levels you wish to use and then delete the level that I created for you. You can do this by going to WP Admin > Memberships > Membership Levels > Add New and filling in the required fields with your data.
– You have not restricted any content via WP Admin > SweetDate > Memberships, you should set these options after completing the step above.
– You have the default role correctly set to ‘Subscriber’ in WP Admin > Settings > General > Scroll to: ‘New User default role’. When a user signs up but has yet to login they will not appear in the members directory, a member will only show in members directory and BuddyPress widgets after they have logged in for the first time.
– I successfully carried out an import for you of the BuddyPress profile fields only using the SweetDate import tool located at WP Admin > Appearance > Theme Setup. You can will now find the imported fields under WP Admin > Users > Profile FieldsOnce you have completed the first two steps please let me know if the issue persists or if the issue is resolved.
Thanks,
Kieran.

October 14, 2017 at 18:11 #176642Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
To remove the WordPress Admin Bar from the front end please add the below snippet to your SweetDate Child theme’s functions.php file by going to Appearance > Editor > SweetDate Child > Functions.php
add_filter('show_admin_bar', '__return_false');
You can read more about this snippet here https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/show_admin_bar. If you would like more information on child theme’s and their purpose please see here https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes.
There are many options to restrict back-end access in WordPress in the Plugin Repository, one such option is Frontier Restrict Backend which can be found here https://wordpress.org/plugins/frontier-restrict-backend/.

October 14, 2017 at 18:48 #176647Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
I have updated your package titled ‘Yearly’ with the correct format, you can edit the item to see how this works (see screenshot).
You’re reviving the error because you do not have any search forms setup. To setup a search form please go to WP Admin > Users > Profile Search > Button: Add New. Select the profile fields you wish to use and save. I have created a form titled ‘Default’ for you with two fields and assigned it by going to Pages > All Pages > zrhp1 > Button: Edit with Elementor > Scroll to and click: Search Widget and select the form drop down (see screenshot). You can create your own and assign it here, or edit the one I have created for you.
The best option for designing the page is to use Elementor as we spent a long time making sure it works great for SweetDate. You should go to Appearance > Theme Setup > Skip to: Import Content > Click: ‘Adavnced’ > Uncheck: All options except for ‘Page’. This will import all of the pages, delete any pages you do not wish to use but keep the default home page. You can then change the name and slug of the page to suit your needs and delete any elements (via ‘Edit with Elementor’) that you do not wish to use and edit to suit your needs.

I hope all is well. I have done all that, but I have not tested out the gateway yet. I am still trying to wrap my head around the Membership Levels.1- I would like to have a 6 or 12 month trial period, for example, at a fixed cost, and then into a monthly after that. I have done something like that, but wanted to know if what I have implemented is accurate. Thank you
October 15, 2017 at 23:15 #176762Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
I just logged in and looked at your membership levels and everything appears to be set as you described above.

October 16, 2017 at 00:56 #176767zarrarnycParticipantHi,
Thank you for the prompt reply. I see an error message that a payment gateway is not setup. I have setup PayPal Pro. Could you please look into that.Thank you again.
October 17, 2017 at 01:28 #176919Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
I logged into your site and I can see that you’ve set the payment gateway to PayPal Express not PayPal Pro, is this correct?
Can you have confirm that you have followed the guide located at the Paid Memberships Pro website?
PayPal Pro https://www.paidmembershipspro.com/gateway/paypal/enable-website-payments-pro/
PayPal Express https://www.paidmembershipspro.com/gateway/paypal/enable-express-checkout/And that you have double checked the details used in your settings and in PayPal itself.
Thanks,
Kieran.

October 17, 2017 at 01:31 #176920zarrarnycParticipantHi,
I hope all is well. I was getting gateway errors when I setup PayPal Pro. Those errors have gone away when I enabled PayPal Express. It is probably best to test out a payment. IS there anything that I have overlooked in general which you can make best practice recommendtations, that would be highly appreciated. Thanks you.
October 17, 2017 at 01:41 #176923Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
With regards to Paid Memberships Pro? Everything under Levels, Pages, Email and Advanced looks okay, the only field that is blank that might be worth considering (depending on where your business is located and how it is structured) is ‘Sales Tax (optional)’ under Payment Gateway & SSL.
Other than that it all looks good. For testing purposes you may wish to create a new, much cheaper, membership level so you can test without hefty fees.
All the best,
Kieran.

October 19, 2017 at 23:23 #177159zarrarnycParticipantHi Kieran,
Everything looks good. What the differences between Kleo and Sweetdate. I know SD is based on Kleo I can see from the source code. I am creating another membership but it is not dating. Knowing the differences will help make that decision. I think SD could be used outside dating.Thank you
October 20, 2017 at 03:08 #177165Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
KLEO and SweetDate are quite different from each other, I think you may have noticed that the term kleo appears in SweetDate too, as it does in BuddyApp. SweetDate came first, then KLEO and most recently BuddyApp.
The strength of SweetDate is the matching system that is used for dating but it can absolutely be used outside of the scope of dating websites, I have seen SweetDate being used for dating, businesses to dog breeding and lots of inbetween. SweetDate is far more focused on the community (BuddyPress) and membership (Paid Memberships Pro) aspects.
KLEO integrates with BuddyPress and Paid Memberships Pro too as you have experienced but overall KLEO is left as open as possible with regards to uses, so you can create a niche dating website, news website, general blog, corporate site etc
Feel free to let me know more details about your upcoming project in a private reply and I will be able to give you more clarification between the two.
Thanks,
Kieran.

October 20, 2017 at 04:07 #177166zarrarnycParticipantHi Kieran,
This is the requirement. I do not know which theme will be best positioned between SweetDate, KLEO, and BuddApp.Requirements (out of the box) :
1- Sig up, register.
2- Membership Levels
3- Integrated payments gateway
4- Content and page builders
5- Advanced Search – Search profiles by their fields, whatever fields they maybe. SweetDate has that for that niche, does KLEO and BuddyApp that.
6- Custom fields for profiles (out of the box, already integrated with some kind of advanced search). Without using external plugins, because they will require integration into the theme, and search system, in my opinion.
7- Roles and Permissions – WP users are not always BuddyPress ‘members’. There is a gap that is filled by third party plugins. These are the basics.
Thank you
October 20, 2017 at 05:36 #177167Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
Thanks for getting back, I will respond in the same format as above for ease
1. SweetDate, KLEO and BuddyApp all have custom options for signing up and registering
2. SweetDate, KLEO and BuddyApp all have integration with Paid Memberships Pro
3. SweetDate, KLEO and BuddyApp do not come with any payment gateway but all three support plugins like Paid Memberships Pro and WooCommerce which do have a myriad of payment gateways
4. SweetDate has a deep integration (since 3.0) with Elementor Page builder, KLEO has a template option (since 4.2) for any page builder and it would be inadvisable to use a page builder with BuddyApp (apart from the bundled Visual Composer) given that it is built to be extremely device friendly.
5. SweetDate makes use of the BuddyPress Profile Fields system which can be extended by a plugin, KLEO and BuddyApp both support the same fields system
6. SweetDate, KLEO and BuddyApp all support BP Profile Search which is now the recommended plugin to use for powerful profile searches. You can see more about that here https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-profile-search/
7. Roles are set by either WordPress core or through a third party plugin and are independent of the theme. If a user signs up via BuddyPress they will be assigned the subscriber role (unless otherwise stated in options), if bbPress is also installed they’re given a secondary role of participant. You can change which roles are assigned by default in WordPress, BuddyPress and bbPress settings. For any other user you wish to create (for example, via the back-end) you can assign the role manually. You can also use third party plugins like User Role Editor to create or edit roles within WordPress. https://wordpress.org/plugins/user-role-editor/Thanks,
Kieran.

October 20, 2017 at 06:23 #177171zarrarnycParticipantHi Kieran,
Can you please clarify what #5 means.5. SweetDate makes use of the BuddyPress Profile Fields system which can be extended by a plugin, KLEO and BuddyApp both support the same fields system
Are you saying that SweetDate is different from KLEO and BuddyApp when using the Profile Field system, or are they identical. Please break down the differences, and what is required for each to work with this.
Thank you
October 20, 2017 at 06:32 #177172Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
The BuddyPress profile fields are specific to BuddyPress and will function exactly the same in the back-end regardless of SweetDate, KLEO or BuddyApp. They will also display the same way on the front-end on the users profile, but obviously, the nuances of their display will be different per theme.
The BuddyPress profile fields can be extended by a third party plugin called BuddyPress Xprofile Custom Fields Type which can be found here https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress-xprofile-custom-fields-type/.
