Comment Box Disappears on Some Posts

Hi there, Happy Holidays!

Some of our posts are missing the comment box/area.

The strange thing is that the comment box appears on posts that were created without changing the publishing date have the comment box. For example, if I create a post with today’s date, the comment box appears. However, if I create a post and change the date to a past date, the comment box does not appear.

The posts that are missing the comment box are posts that we entered with past dates.

Hope this makes sense.

Hello, at the post editor check the top of the page to find “screen options” and check discussions
Then scroll down to find the discussion section and check Enable Comments 🙂

Hi Laura,

Thank you for the quick response; especially during the holiday week!

Discussions have been enabled from Screen Options and comments have been enabled for all of the posts that are missing the comment area on the post pages.

We’ve even delete some posts and recreated them. Confirming that it has something to do with the date. For example, if I create a post and publish, the comment area is there. But, if I go back into the post and change the date to a past date, say April 1, 2016, and publish, the comment area disappears on the post page.
