    Long email to explain the issues with this theme.

    1. too often the elementor editor (which I’ve never used and am not a fan of) does not open. It just sits on the splash screen, thus causing serious issues when trying to edit a page.

    2. The image “status_04.png” will not show on the template. When I first installed the template, neither status_03 or status_04 would show.  After deleting all files and the DB for a fresh install, status_03.png appeared. After two more fresh installs, status_04.png is still absent.  This is the image above “Men Online”.

    3. Which brings me to my next issue, the website does not show any men or women online.  I’ve created several fake accounts (making sure to indicate a sex for each account) and I always find a “0” on the website above “Women Online”.  Again, I have done so many fresh installs it’s crazy. It installs just fine every time, both the main and child templates.

    4. Search feature returns nothing.  I believe it simply reads no matches.  I have tried every configuration under the sun and can’t come up with a way to generate any real search results. It’s like the search script isn’t even seeing the DB.  Ideas???

    So far these are the main issues I’ve come across.  Please help as soon as you can.

    Thanks,

    Brandon Stone

    After starting and restarting, logging in and logging out, several times now, I am unable to edit the “Home Default” page. The Elementor editor just sits on the splash screen.

    In addition, the sign up process does not appear to be working. When I attempt to create a new member and click submit, I’m taken back to the home page. No email verification or setup link is sent.

    I have been using wordpress and various templates for nearly 15 years and I’ve never had to work so hard to try to get something up and running. This has been a complete waste of my time. If I cant get some answers/solutions for these issues, is it possible to get a full refund?

    Thanks,
    Brandon Stone

    Another bug to investigate. When I’m on the main page and sign up for an account, I have to enter a username and password, and confirm the password. I’m then directed to a new page where some of the info is populated based on info from the index page but I’m asked again to enter a password and to confirm it. This step should only be required once, either on the index page or the membership page.

    It’s still not working correctly! Here are the issues that still persist, as well as a new one that I just discovered.

    1. I long ago increased the memory allocation to 256MB in the wp-config.php file. Elemenator still gives me problems, although if I click it enough times it will finally allow me to edit a page (home default is the only page I’ve tried to work on)
    2. Fixed – Thank you!
    3. The website still does not show any men or women online. I’ve created several fake accounts (making sure to indicate a sex for each account) and I always find a “0” on the website above “Women Online”. It shows total number of members and total number online but does not reflect how many online members are men or women.

    4. Search feature returns nothing. I believe it simply reads no matches. I have tried every configuration under the sun and can’t come up with a way to generate any real search results. It’s like the search script isn’t even seeing the DB. Ideas??? NOW – the search feature just takes me back to the home page and doesn’t even reflect an attempted search.

    5. Look at the “Members List” under membership in wp-admin. It reflects zero members. I believe I have created four fake memberships and have confirmed the email addresses and chose a membership plan. Why does this not reflect he four members I’ve created?

    6. When I’m on the main page and sign up for an account, I have to enter a username and password, and confirm the password. I’m then directed to a new page where some of the info is populated based on info from the index page but I’m asked again to enter a password and to confirm it. This step should only be required once, either on the index page or the membership page.

    This template/script needs a lot of work. As I continue to use it, I find more and more bugs. Are you going to be able to fix these issues, which I assume other users would be having as well?

    Thank you for your quick and timely response to these issues.

    Hello:)
    1- It seems related to woocommerce, i still think its a memory issue, if you want to use woocommerce you might need to contact hosting about memory issues.

    3,4,5- Its the fake user, it has to login at least once, if you did login with a fake user and it doesnt show, try to recount members at Tools > Buddypress

    6. This is not something by default, check using only buddypress plugin

    Hi,

    Ticket was assigned to me from now, i’ve tried to take a look at your at your website especially for the issue that not count correctly the members and also impossibility to search the members

    Tried to take a look at the page builder and a 500 error appears

    3. The new accounts to can show up in the directory should be logged in at least one time, so if you had created members from wp-admin -> users -> add new you will have to login with that account once to can be visible in members directory, this can be a reason.

    4. The search works now, but from members page, from homepage not works cuz it’s something configured wrongly or it’s related to the 500 error, while i search from home ,i’m redirected to the same page instead the result page.

    5. The members sign-ups are made thru buddypress and if they sign-up doese’t mean especially that they will buy a membership… if you want to register users and to buy directly a membership you can send your visitors here : https://www.letslay.com/membership-account/membership-levels/ then after will choose a membership the details fields will be requested.

    Other alternative of this can be creation like now thru buddypress and then after user activate his account, on the login there will be a check if the logged in members has a purchased membership, if no they will be redirected to the membership levels page https://www.letslay.com/membership-account/membership-levels/ and they will be locked in until they buy something. This can be done using the next php code that should be added in wp-content/themes/sweetdate-child/functions.php

    COPY CODE

    add_action( 'template_redirect', 'my_membersip_restrict' );

    function my_membersip_restrict() {
        global $pmpro_pages, $post;

        if ( is_user_logged_in() && !pmpro_hasMembershipLevel() ) {
            if (isset($post->ID) && !in_array($post->ID, $pmpro_pages)) {
                wp_redirect( pmpro_url() );
            }
        }
    }

    6. The dates are passed to the next page but the password for security reason browser prevent to pass the password input… so the details are forwarded for the fields username and email… this is how it works..

    Also i’ve tried to login to you hostgator account but the login details are incorrect, i was looking for the error log to see the reason for the 500 error, you can ask the hosting provider if you want about why the internal error 500 happens when you open the edit link with elementor https://www.letslay.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=864&action=elementor

    I think there it’s a limit somewhere or something.

    Let me know

    Cheers

    Hi,
    For the point 3. You can do the next , go to : wp-admin -> tools -> buddypress -> check all fields and press repair items.

    Thank you for taking an interest in my issues.

    1. I had to update from php5.6 to php7 for Elmenator to work properly. I may have missed this in your setup steps but it may be necessary for other users to also update php. It may not always be the case, but it’s good to know for those of us who are still running an older version.

    2. No issues

    3. “The new accounts to can show up in the directory should be logged in at least one time, so if you had created members from wp-admin -> users -> add new you will have to login with that account once to can be visible in members directory, this can be a reason.” – I have logged in and out no less than 10 times. This wasn’t the issue.

    4. The home search now works. It was not a php problem, as I still had issues with it after I updated to php7 and solved the 500 error message. I simply had to click “Add to Directory” under “Users”, “Profile Search” edit home search. This was not a default setting and I’m not sure how other users’ home search buttons worked without this fix.

    5. I’ve worked through the issues I’ve had with membership sign ups. Even for a free membership, I had to create a payment gateway so that the membership could be completed.

    6. I don’t agree with your explanation. I’ve owned several directories over the years and it’s only necessary to choose and enter a password once. This is just poor programming. If you can’t carry the password through to the registration page, there’s no reason to ask for one prior to the registration page. It’s an extra step that’s not needed. Remove the password requirement, have the new member enter a username and email address and have a one line text below the signup fields that reads “password will be entered on the next page”.

    Hi,

    6. I understand that, in this case it’s needed to modify the php template file.

    Go to wp-content/themes/sweetdate-child/ create a folder named page-parts in that you will createa a file named : home-register-form.php

    In that you will paste this contnt : https://pastebin.com/raw/NjC8ks5J

    So the complete path it’s : /wp-content/themes/sweetdate-child/page-parts/home-register-form.php

    NOTE : Child theme needs to be installed and activated.

    That’s it

    Cheers
