I’ve tried everything to make the ‘create group’ button/link appear on user profile pages > groups … disabled all plugins … deleted the bp-custom.php file … changed themes … but it doesn’t appear anywhere on the page.

Am I going mad or have I missed something?

It never has. Its only on the group directory page.

Everyone else seems to think it does, even Buddypress. Here’s an example of one of the hundreds of posts about it https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/no-add-group-button-in-buddypress

It’s never been in the profile. Enable the WP 2015 theme. That’s the default BP theme. Let me know if you see a create groups button in the profile. I would do it but I’m on my phone.

No, you’re right – it’s not there with WP2015 activated either! I have no idea what everyone is on about in the forums then :/
When you say the ‘groups directory page’ which one is that? The only place I can find to add a group is in the top right hand WP menu (see attached).

Just discovered the ‘create group’ button does appear at this url: http://metonset.com/user-groups/ (see attached) … but there is no link to the url on the Buddypress user profile menu
