Creating a user interface tutorial with tooltips

My users have been complaining about the ease of use of both buddypress and kleo features and I am trying to get custom work done but in the meantime I would like to create a demo on the site to show users about the features of kleo/our site.
I have played with the tooltip feature but I would like to have them show on a users page when they first sign up like a tour.
What is the best way to accomplish this?
