CSS align="aligncenter" confine to horizontal

Hi

Add media

align=”aligncenter” centres vertically as well as horizontally in your theme

I just want to horizontally centre an image and can’t yet do it.

the image still goes down the post aligned center

Please – Any ideas as to how to just confine aligncenter to horizontal – so that the image can be placed at the top of the post?
