ParticipantHOWEVER
you will notice the “posts” section of the results shows a slightly oval thumb still
There’s a lot of general weirdness in this theme regarding images. It’s my instinct this need a pretty deep investigation into the theme
Also note:
On a site I have non displaying images in chrome and firefox, but strangely display in safari (but stretched)

KeymasterHi, thanks for sharing. that happens because the thumb is not square and it will keep the ratio.
The other images issue seemed to happen because your images had the class logo which is used for the logo in header and probably inherited something from there

Participant@abe, this makes perfect sense
Would it make sense, then for me to rebuild all thumbs to a 1:1 ratio?

ParticipantJust tried to edit this post immediately – no go
Anyways, I need thumbs not to be square on on post and page archives, because they are going to be photographer and model pages and cropping is bad in this instance
However a square thumb is needed for pretty searches and maybe somewhere else I haven’t run into yet.
Is there a solution to this you can think of… the aesthetic of the theme is why I choose it. I want to do my best to maintain it
here’s two different archive methods being used – one is by the theme and another by Essential Grid” by Themepunch and you see that cropping thumbs cannot be used:

https://retrocutie.com/modelsI’ll make this a private post because I don’t the those URLs out there just yet
Thanks again @abe
