Custom side menu changes to default after update

Hello,

I recently updated my Kleo theme manually (as per instructed by Kleo theme) and installed the market plug in. Now I’ve used the plug in to do a new theme  update and upon doing so the side menu I built has changed to the wordpress default side menu.

I can’t seem to get the original side menu I created to load on any of the pages. I’ve rolled back the site to the previous version but I need to update the theme. Please help.

Hi,

Make sure to not have checked a certain position for any other menu than side one.

Hi Radu,

Thanks so much for getting back to me. I did check my settings as you suggested and tried the update again. For some reason the default side menu shows up again after I do the update. I have rolled back to pre-update.

I’m attaching two screen shots. The first is how I have set my custom side menu

The second is how I have set the main navigation across the top of the page.

I can’t imagine what else I should be looking for. Please help!

TRied to login to see how it’s on backend, but the login credentials not working, you can check if the settings are as you leaved when you had configured the side menu initially

The odd think it’s we do not change nothing for the side menu in latest update.

HI Radu,

I checked and to be sure I matched your your side menu settings in theme options, and did the update again. Same problem… It’s quite the frustrating mystery. I must have something set incorrectly but I can’t imagine where. Would it possibly be on the individual pages?

Not sure why that since no other user reported something similar or any any menu related issue.

I had done a little test on your install i had created a new menu and i have assigned to the main menu position to see how it behaves and it’s ok there are displayed only the items that are in the backend.

You can rearrange them.
I had reverted back your initial menu.

Hi Radu,

I think we have totally mis communicated. My issue is not with the menu showing across the top. It’s with the side menu placed on the inside pages. Here is a photo of how it is supposed to look. When I do the update this menu goes away and the default wordpress side menu comes up.

Does this clarify?

Try to re select it from wp-admin -> appearance -> widgets
