Customized PageLayout

Hi guys,

I want to add a new customized page template to wordpress. But it did not work. It is not shown at hte drop down menu…where should I place the file and which content should be in?

Hi,

How have you added new page template?

In this way, a new template can be created: https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/creating-custom-page-templates-in-wordpress/

But you can duplicate a template from ours, example this one : /wp-content/themes/kleo/page-templates/left-sidebar.php

And to can have it even you update the theme just put the new template in wp-content/themes/kleo-child/page-templates/

NOTE: Child theme needs to be installed and activated.

Hi Radu,

I tried it on different ways (also the way you have shown)…I also checked the permissions…but no result…I tried it with a wordpress standard theme…no result….

what could be the reason for that?

Hi,

Most sure you do something wrong there,

FRom example copy this content : https://pastebin.com/raw/TdtNHkkL

Go to wp-content/themes/kleo-child/page-templates/

Create a file named from example : my-page-template.php open the file and paste the content from clipboard then you are able to make the changes that in need in this file and to change it for every page that you need

NOTE : Child theme needs to be installed and activated.
