    Hello. I am having a minor issue regarding default image size. I am using jetpack cdn service which is resizing each image to the default image size of around 1000px.

    We mostly use 1920px images optimized for web and this resizing makes them look not very nice especially on very large monitors.

    I opened a ticket on jetpack and they say that the default image size in the theme should be changed, but after having looked in theme options, I still have no idea of where that can be done.

    Any hint?

    ========jetpack ticket=======

    The image CDN looks at the <img> element’s width and height attributes and then serves an image resized to those dimensions or to the width of the containing element and chooses whichever is smaller.

    If the containing element of the theme (meaning the image size that is set as the default for posts) is only set to 1000px, then the image CDN will resize it accordingly.

    If you can modify the size of the containing element through the theme, then you can serve the images with 1920px.

    Hi,

    The image sizes can be adjusted from wp-adminn -> theme options -> blog -> Enable Custom Image sizes -> YES. But tell me more exactly where you are using the 1920 image width to can tell you exactly.

    Cheers

    hello. I am using 2k images mainly as post images like in
    https://www.livellozero.net/sono-la-morte-portami-in-catena/

    I changed image options in wp setting and have set large images to 2000 pixels. Previously I had tried to change image size in theme options but an issue in thumbnail images arised and thumbnails were not visible anymore in HP.

    The whole issue arised because cloudflare caches the images as per specified image size (which previousle was 1000px). Since our images and their resolution is generally higher it happened because of this that we were serving imaged at a lower cached resolution. I have modified image size in wp settings. Will that be enough?

    Thanks

    Hi,

    After you change the image sizes in theme options it’s mandatory to regenerate the thumbnails, to can generate new image sizes. After changing image sizes you need to regenerate thumbnails using https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails

    Also purge all caches after.

    Cheers
