Default to Free Membership, but prompt for premium

Is there a way that when a member clicks the activation link they are automatically enrolled in the free membership, but still they are on the first login taken to the membership levels page to select a premium level if they want?

but users will be assigned a membership and on login they won’t be redirected at the membership page. You need to work on a redirection code with some conditions to achieve that

Thanks….quick question: will this move them to the membership level only after they have activated via the email? or will it do this prior even to the email activation? I need the email to still be required to prevent spam accounts…
