Disable Activity

How do you hide the activity from public view so only the users whos account it is can see it or remove the activity tab completely

There is a plugin called BuddyPress Activity Privacy

This allows you to set default privacy for activity items or allow members to set their privacy options. Options include ‘everyone’ ‘only registered members’ only admin’ ‘only me’

If you just want to switch the activity off go to wordpress admin and settings>buddypress>components and untick activity streams and save.

Just be careful because some buddypress plugins require the activity stream to be active to work and will give errors if the activity stream is disabled. If you aren’t running many plugins it should be fine.

this plugin makes the site more unclear. i just want to hide the main activity stream “www.yourdomain.com/activity/ for not logged in users.

Choose the page you want to hide for not logged in users. in my case this was Activity
