Disable Google fonts to be in accordance with GDPR (new European law)

Dear Kleo-Team,

as there is a huge change regading the data protection in the EU (GDPR) I’m not longer allowed to use Google web fonts on my website. How can I delete or disable them in the Kleo Theme?

Hi, you can change them to a standard font like Arial.

From Wp admin – Theme options there are two locations where google fonts can be used:
– Fonts. Do it for H1-H6 and Body
– Header options – Header Fonts

thank you for your answer.

I already did this, but as I know the google fonts will be loaded even if they’re not used. The problem is that Google gets user data if the google fonts are used/loaded on a website and that is not allowed in the EU as this data is likely to get to servers outside the EU.

So I need to disable or delete them completely as I’m fine with the standard fonts.

If you don’t choose them in the panel then they won’t load. You can view loaded page source and do a search for fonts.googleapis.com to check. Google fonts can come from other plugins too so be careful.
