Disable Portfolio Click Thru?

Sorry I’m a newbie with a question. How do I disable the links to single page portfolio items; all I want is the portfolio grid on my homepage (with category filters etc) but you can’t click on them?

I don’t have a page up and running now. I tinkered with it yesterday and last night but until i know this can be resolved, I have taken it down and am trying another theme.

I just want to have that nice responsive portfolio grid on the front/home page but disable any links or click thrus when you hover over the portfolio items? Is it a CSS thing ?

Sorry if Im asking dumb questions – am pretty new to WP
