Display most recent post on archive page?

Is there a way to display only the most recent post in its entirety on the category / archive web page instead of all the posts? In other words, I would like the category / archive web page to look just like a single post page but showing the most recent post for that category.

Hello, by default the most recent post should appear, but not the full post, you could use the list view to see it bigger but the entire posts are not shown at the archive, you would need to edit the file and that requires some development
