Display topic count

Is there a way for me to display on a page how many topics are posted in a certain Forum? I want to display this number on my home page http://hindsiteforum.com/ where all the featured items display each Forum Category. This is where I would like to display the number of topics in that forum category. I can see the option on the backend editor to display Post Count, but that obviously displays blog posts, not forum topics. Any advice??
