Displaying a placeholder content when no posts are found in Post Grid

Hello,

 

Situation: The website has an “Event” page where people post events which are displayed using the Post Grid, filtered by category name. Sometimes it can be that there are no upcoming events in the block and it displays an empty space.

I would like to fill that space with a placeholder of some sort (an image or a special post ), whenever there are no upcoming events displayed. I imagine there has to be a custom function that checks whether there is something in that block or not, but I don’t really know where to find the hook for the Post Grid so I can check it in my statement.

I hope this is clear enough to understand what I’m trying to do. I wasn’t able to access WPbakery’s support, since I have no license of their product.

Also, any other ideas on how to solve it would be appreciated 🙂
