facebook-function-login.php edits

Hi –

The function-facebook-login.php file under wp-content/themes/kleo/kleo-framework/lib/function-facebook-login.php – should this file be modified in order to make changes to the facebook login permissions?  Our developer is saying that there are no filters or hooks to manage facebook login permissions (we are adding in Friends permission), so this file must be edited directly in the parent theme.  He tried making a copy to the child theme but it did not work.

Can you confirm that we should be editing the function-facebook-login.php file directly in the parent theme?  If there are theme updates, will this override our changes?
