what info does facebook login retrieve when i login through facebook. beside the image avatar and credentials ?
1) does it take the name as it is in facebook ?
2) can it retrieve the hobbies and interests and movies and so on from facebook too ?

Hi,
Facebook gets the image and name. Credentials are generated and sent with an email to your address. Yes it will take the name.
Point 2 can be achieved but you need some development to extend the default functionality

I’m really new with facebook apps , how can this be achieved i want to retrieve the gender , birthday, interests, location(country & city). How can i achieve this please help

Really old topic. Getting other user fields from Facebook is not possible by default. You need to code a custom script to achieve that. All the facebook login functions can be found here: wp-content/themes/sweetdate/framework/functions/facebook_login.php

Why am I getting the name as hyphenated? bob-smith instead of Bob Smith?

the system gets the name from Facebook so maybe that is your nickname
