Fatal Error: Allowed memory size

Hi there, after installing the theme and all the required plugins I get this error when Customizing the theme. I did a bit of research and it said the problem has something to do with the php using too much memory or something?

 

I contacted my host (GoDaddy) and they were unable to provide any support because they said the site looks fine as far as bandwidth and everything goes. Please let me know if you are able to help me out. Thanks

Hi there, that is a very common problem with WordPress and hosting setting. Please contact your host to increase PHP memory limit to 128MB

Thanks for your reply, however, as stated in the original post, I contacted my host and they said this is not a problem with hosting and rather with the theme.

Any ideas?

Hey there, So after following all the steps in the small tutorial you sent me, I am now getting “Internal Sever Error” and can’t even log into the WordPress admin panel, where as before the issue only arose when I went to customize site.

Please revert whatever changes you made to the file. Please just talk with your hosting to increase your PHP memory_limit to 128MB. It should be really simple and no hosting should have a problem with that. From the initial error log you gave me you only have 64MB allocated.

Okay, back to square one. I’ll contact my hosting again shortly. Thanks for your help! 🙂

Finally!

The problem was you have to change the memory limit in the .user.ini file not the php.ini file!
