Favorite button for posts isn’t working <3

When users attempt to like/favorite a post, the button changes to the number 0 but their action is not registered. Thus, no posts likes are recorded.

How can we correct this bug?

I deactivated every single plugin (28 total) and it still doesn’t work. Laura, I provided credentials earlier for your review.

This is a fairly new installation, but I checked anyway:

• BuddyAppVersion: 1.4 (Using child theme)
• WordPress version 4.7.5–en

This is an urgent matter for us. Thank you.

Update: The bug is definitely theme related because the BuddyPress favorites works just fine when we switched to the default TwentySeventeen theme included in WordPress. The favorite persists when leaving the activity stream and returning.

Please update to BuddyApp 1.5 since in that version we added Buddypress 2.8.2 compatibility

Thanks for the prompt reply. I did a ThemeForest auto-update to the newest BuddyApp version 1.5 but this did not help. I am still using the previous child theme file.

Admin credentials are privately listed in this thread.

password does not work. make sure to update buddypress too and make sure BuddyApp is latest version 1.5 in Appearance – Themes

Ahhh, I had to activate the BuddyApp core theme, then return to the child theme and it worked like a charm! (BuddyPress was already updated.)

I updated/corrected your admin password, but it looks like I’m all set.

One more question:

I am using GeoDirectory and it too has a “Favorites” button that’s outside of BuddyPress. How can we change BuddyPress’ “Favorite/Remove Favorite” to “Like/Unlike”?
