So I have been having huge troubles getting my site speed up and it’s hurting my rankings. I followed your very informative “The Definitive WordPress SpeedĀ Guide” but am still having a poor speed score in Pingdom, GTmetrix, and Google Analytics.

I got rid of unnecessary plugins, I installed WP Super Cache, WP Optimize, Smush It, Autoptomize, (Speed Booster Pack fucked up the design of my site and removed my slider so I deleted it), and I then got set up with CloudFlare.

I still get many warnings on my site butĀ the main one I see from Google is that the feature images of the Related ArticlesĀ carousel at the bottom of the article are super heavy. This means that I get a warning for images that aren’t even used INĀ the article itself but are in the Related Articles at the bottom. I have already “smushed” all my photos and what I suspect is that there is some CSS or HTML going on around these photos and it is causing some trouble. SO, I removed the Related Articles at the bottom of the post and my page speed score went up by more than 20%!!!

The problem is I would like to encourage people to poke around the site and seeĀ related articles.

Even with the plugins mentioned above, I still get warnings for:

“Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content”

    Combine external JavaScript” -???

Minimize redirects” – this is apparently from having YouTube videos in my post, but I’m told Google likes thatĀ

“Defer parsing of JavaScript” – Speed Booster Pack didn’t fix this, and it screwed up the design of my pages.

If there are any ideas, tips, resources, or anything at all you could do to help that would be fantastic. Thanks!

That would be great and much appreciated. Whatever I have done through these plugins has been an absolute disaster for my site and now my Slider Revolution doesn’t even work on my homepage so I’m going to replace it with a photo. Must be something to do with the caching?

I will put the Related Articles back in the article I’m having problems with. The article in particular that has horrible speed score is:
    http://www.hollagully.com/the-top-10-best-home-studio-monitors/

I also don’t use many of the plugins that come with Kleo and I’m wondering if I can just delete them…Not sure if they’re required or not. I don’t need MOJO Marketplace, rtMedia, WooCommerce, or YITH WooCommerce Wishlist.

I notice when I type in any URL for my site the screen is white for a long time and then everything loads in at once.

At this point, GTmextrix can’t even analyze my homepage because it says it takes too long to load. I really appreciate the help.

If you need to get into my hosting account its with Bluehost (I’m thinking of switching)

I should also note, in case you were going to update any plugins, there are two that I don’t update because they are cracked, being Thrive and EasyAzon. Thought I should mention that. I use these same plugins on other sites with no problems.

Hello, yes you can disable them.
    For speed, check https://tools.pingdom.com/#!/dW5LRz/hollagully.com
I tried to optimize but there is nothing much left to do, maybe try a cdn? MAXCDN is very good
