Function.php in Child Theme

Hi,

 

A while back I needed my pagination fixed due to titles being too long so I asked ABE to change the titles to just next and prev. Which Abe did this by giving me a modified function.php to add in my child theme. At that time i just put the new fuction.php file in the child theme and it fixed the problem. But i recently noticed that he didn’t include any of the other code that should be also in the function.php file. The only code that is in the file relates to that pagination and thats it. This missing code is starting to effect other functions of the site.

 

For instance, when i add the pagination feature to portfolio, when page numbers are clicked it gives me a 404 error. For right now this is the only problem i can find at the moment and am trying to find a way to fix.  I would like to get the portfolio pagination function back as well as fix the modified function.php folder so that i can avoid future issues.
