Geo My WP not linking to User Profile fields

Hi,

I have added Geo my WP and would have expected a new field to be present to add to the User Profile Form so that people entering their location would be able to select their location.  This is not the case.

How do I get members to add their location?

It is probably really obvious, but I’m not seeing it…

Hello, users should see a Location menu at their profiles, if you have the geomywp addon for buddypress fields then you can use a profile field instead 🙂

Hi – could you please let me know how to get this profile field? It is not showing up as an option when I am building the profile fields form.
There is also no Location menu in the profiles area…

Thanks – this isn’t quite what I was after though. Perhaps you can point me in the right direction?

I would like members to be able to add their location (like what you have activated), but within the sign-up form itself (rather than the current free-text I currently have for city or state).
This information would then ideally be able to be used by other members in a search, where they can search on the map for a certain place and see which members are nearby (on the map).
Is this possible? How do I achieve this?

Also – it would be ideal if I could have a search form “Where would you like to play (golf)?” they type a location, and then they are able to see a map of members in that area?

I´m agreeing with Leahh.

Users now needs to input their address on the location tab.

It would be perfect if we can use the ´city´ profile field on the signup form.

(When members are dating online, they mostly don’t want to use their exact location.)

Or am I missing something?

Hello, please check at geomywp addons, they have an addon to use a profile field instead. Right now the location is what its available, but if you want to use a field the addon works perfectly 🙂

I checked the add-ons. I had already activated 2 of them.

 

But I think you mean the add-on: Xprofile fields

is this still working? i have activated the Sweed Date “Geolocation add-on 1.0” and the “Members Locator Add-on 2.7” which says it has Xprofile Fields and more, however the user must still set their location in the ‘location’ tab instead of the main profile field. how can i fix this?
