GeoDirectory – Can’t Add Locations Outside the Default Location

I’m trying to create a directory of businesses located across the United States, Canada and possibly the UK. I set the “default location” as Boston, MA but when I try to add a place anywhere else, it gives me an error message that says “please choose any address of the (Boston) city only”

Does this mean I can only add locations within one city??

Hello, by default yes, the directory plugin works like that, but they have addons that allows you to use multiple locations 🙂

Thanks for your response! Can I suggest you update the promotional material for this theme then if that’s the case? The example you use shows multiple points of interest in different cities and even states (New York and New Jersey). I might have made a different decision about buying the theme if I knew I had to add a $45 plugin to make it work as it does in the example.

Hi There

I see this has previously been reported as an issue. This was the only reason I purchased this theme. My directory includes international music festivals, so this theme is useless unless I purchase the extra GeoDirectory themes necessary. You really need to state that in your marketing materials!

Hello, this theme was not made for GeoDirectory only, it integrates with it an that is what we advertise, we do not advertise to include any geodirectory addon, so its normal that if you want to add extra features to your site, you will need to get them from geodirectory, our theme is not supposed to include any geodirectory extra or feature that was not shown at the demos or advertised at the themeforest page
