I’m having more than a few issues with this, everyone says it’s a good theme but also have the same issues.
We’re making a site for a client at http://www.gametime-media/massage4her
What i need to do for the client is make a massage therapist community with two groups, therapeutic and sensual, that they can join and interact with each other.
1. I’m missing pages it seems. I want a page for people to easily view their account but when i put the members page on the menu it doesn’t take me there it just takes me to a blank page. The only way for me to see my account is to click on my name if in the sidebar on one of the pages once i’m logged in.
The groups page was giving me issues, not letting me create groups but i was able to finally do it so I now have the 2 that i needed, therapeudic and sensual. I need to let people sign up and put themselves into one of those 2 groups.2. I wanted to have a link (page) for users to login. So a login page if that’s possible.
3. I need to set up a paid membership plan but that’s just something i haven’t gotten into yet, if you have any tips on how to easily do that it would help. Just finding the “socket” section was a mission and i’ve never seen a theme that made it so difficult honestly, i ended up taking it off when i really just wanted to change what it said but never found how. I know once i get everything working i’ll be praising the theme and these will just be learning pains.
August 19, 2015 at 15:34 #73723sharmstrModeratorYour link doesnt work.
1 – Use the My Account link in the Kleo section of Appearance > Menus. If you dont see Kleo, then click on Screen Options in the upper right hand corner and enable it. https://archived.seventhqueen.com/documentation/kleo#menus
2 – Again, use the login in the Kleo section. That will launch the login modal.
3 – My advice is read the Kleo docs: https://archived.seventhqueen.com/documentation/kleo#memberships and the PMPro docs: http://www.paidmembershipspro.com/documentation/
3a – You can change the socket text in Theme Options > General Settings.

August 19, 2015 at 17:30 #73745rodneyParticipantHey awesome thanks for the quick response and accurate problem solving that fixed most of my issues. Kleo option wasn’t on in the screen options so i’m glad you added that rather than waiting for me to message you saying i can’t see it.
Is there a way to globally deactivate the topbar, breadcrumbs and contact info. I don’t really need it and find myself taking it off every page and i know there’s probably a better way. I’m having a hard time taking it off the My Account (profile) page.
Thanks again. and here’s a working link, i didn’t notice i missed some stuff on the other link. http://gametime-media.com/massage4her/
August 19, 2015 at 18:00 #73753rodneyParticipantAlso when a user signs up is there a way to let them choose what group they belong to? If that makes any sense, so when they sign up to our specific site they can choose if they’re a therapeutic or sensual massage therapist. So if i sign up, i can choose sensual as my group, then i can browse and see all profiles from both groups but if another user browses sensual they’ll see my profile but if they browse therapeutic i wont show up.
Let me know if you need more clarification, i understand it might sound confusing. I’ll write a proposed workflow:
1. Visit SITE
2. Click Login then Create Account
3. I fill out my information and either right there choose my group or
4. Choose Group to joinMy only other question is i had a co-worker test out the sign-up process, he entered the wrong login info after creating an account which took him to the wordpress login, there he put the right info. This then took him to the wordpress users page, I don’t want that to happen i want them to go to the home page. The way it works if you login correctly from the beginning.
Thanks
August 19, 2015 at 18:49 #73761sharmstrModeratorYou can set the top bar, breadcrumb and other things in Theme Options.
For your last post, that’s not Kleo related. You should ask on the buddypress forums. I’m sure its been discussed there.

August 19, 2015 at 19:06 #73767rodneyParticipantOk thanks but now my groups page is blank and i haven’t done anything other than change the group image. Not sure what keeps happening. I’ll work to try and fix it but can you see if there’s anything that stands out or have any tips. Thanks
August 19, 2015 at 19:08 #73769rodneyParticipantAlso where in the Theme Options can i set that, i’ve tried looking but must be missing something.
August 19, 2015 at 19:34 #73780sharmstrModeratorYour groups pages look fine to me.
Header and layout sections.

August 19, 2015 at 19:45 #73786rodneyParticipantThanks yeah i just updated the permalinks and fixed the issue a few moments ago. Thanks
August 19, 2015 at 19:52 #73792rodneyParticipantHow can users delete their accounts. I set it so they can do that but can’t find the option on the site anywhere. In the profile settings page i can only get to profile visibility which Says Base “Name” which means nothing to an average user i think and Visibility “Everyone” but they’re not links or anything i can seem to change. Not sure if it’s because i’m logged in as an admin or something. I can’t seem to change the settings although there’s a Save Settings Button. Thanks for all the quick help
August 19, 2015 at 20:02 #73794sharmstrModeratorDo me a favor and start new topics when the question subject has changed. I’m not the only one who works here (and technically I dont) AND it makes searching the site easier for other users who might have the same question.
To answer your question, you wont see the option because you’re admin.
I suggest you learn buddypress if you’re going to be managing a buddypress site: https://codex.buddypress.org/member-guide/

August 19, 2015 at 20:49 #73808rodneyParticipantwow thanks and pretty dirty way to end the customer service. This is new to me and i have a short amount of time so i figured i could ask and you guys would help like you were doing. I know wordpress and your theme does things in some weird convoluted ways it seems to me. But no worries now i know for next time.
August 19, 2015 at 20:50 #73809rodneyParticipanti thought you specifically worked here by the way, since it’s their support that’s why i asked everything i hit a snag on.
August 19, 2015 at 20:54 #73810sharmstrModeratorI’m not ending customer service? I was offering a suggestion. You should really learn Buddypress so you can save yourself some headaches and a ton of time. It was an honest comment coming from someone who runs 5 sites. Kleo doesnt do anything special with the delete account function of buddypress. Its standard buddypress. 🙂
As far as starting a new topic, the search here isnt that great. Keeping topics on subject helps.

August 19, 2015 at 20:57 #73811rodneyParticipantYeah i understand have been to some other support forums with the same issues/approaches. Thanks for real for all the help though because i was hitting a wall and getting headaches lol. I’ve done my share of wordpress sites but got this buddypress site dropped on my lap and had to figure out as much as possible in a few days. Didn’t know what was on Kleo’s side and what’s on BuddyPress’s side. It’s rare i work on a buddypress site.
August 19, 2015 at 21:02 #73813sharmstrModeratorAnother big help would be to set up a vanilla site (testing site) with WP 2015 Theme and BP. Then you can quickly tell if its a kleo issue or a bp issue. I did that for awhile, but now I just switch the theme. This isnt always the best approach if you have a CDN or caching turned on.
