ParticipantHi Support, I just installed the latest release of Kleo and now I am having problems with accessing my Media Library. It displays OK but when I try to click on a specific item, the Attachment Details page is totally blank. I’m actually not sure the PDF files that I uploaded actually took either because I just tried to view one and it is blank.
Your help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
LindaK

ParticipantThanks Laura – I needed to update 4 plugins so thanks for reminding me about that! I completed the update and then tried re-uploading a PDF file and thankfully it did not crash the site when I went to view it (like yesterday) but it won’t display it. The file in question is called: atlee-left.pdf. Please log in using:

ParticipantHi Laura, I have updated all my plugins and yesterday I was able to upload an image and was able to insert it into a page which was very good! However I still can’t upload a PDF file and use it. I provided log in credentials above so you can check.
Thanks again for your help!

ModeratorHello, I think this issue could be related to some known bugs of the new version of buddypress, can you downgrade to buddypress 2.9 and see if that works?

ParticipantSo when you say buddypress, do you mean both bbPress which I have 2.5.14 installed and active and BuddyPress 3.0.0 installed but inactive. I imagine you are referring to BuddyPress – however does an inactive plugin cause problems?
How do I get to the 2.9 release?
Thanks!

ModeratorHello, try by uninstalling it, it resolves it?

ParticipantHi Laura – OK I did what you said and deleted both BuddyPress plugins but it did not solve the problem : ( Do you have any other ideas or should it be escalated to a higher technician? I really need to be able to upload PDF files onto my site.
Thank you,

ParticipantHi again – so I don’t have any BuddyPress installed at the moment. How do I get the 2.9 release? Would that possibly resolve the problem?
Thanks again for all your help!

ModeratorHello, checked now and i see them correctly, you may not be able to read pdf there as wordpress does not have a pdf visualizer, but any picture should display fine

ParticipantI’m sorry to say that it is still a problem. If you go to the page: https://www.treyburn.org/architecture-modification-application/ and page down where it says “Select your Model” – the first button called “ATLEE-L” is attached to a PDF file and it will not display. If you click on it, you are brought to either 404 Not Found or a Post page called atlee-left “Leave a reply.”
I am unable to do anything with any PDF files once I upload them. I cannot edit them or insert them or display them. If I click on VIEW for atlee-left-2.pdf it brings me to the post page. If I click on edit it brings up a page that says Edit Media, Permalink: https://www.treyburn.org/atlee-left-3/. It’s very confusing. I can’t get anything to work with it.
Thanks for getting back to me.

ModeratorHello, it works correctly, but you are adding it wrong, at your button, do not link to the attachment, link to the PDF link.
for example, yours is https://www.treyburn.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/atlee-left-2.pdf
If you go to Media Library and click on a PDF, do not click edit, just copy the URL of the item, which should end in a .pdf and use it as the url of the button. I just tested and works great, i was able to see the pdfHi there!!! Help others from the community and mark any reply as solution if it solved your question. ParticipantSo strange – that is what I usually do but was not able to do so because the theme wasn’t letting me grab the URL. Whatever happened, it appears to be fixed now : ) Maybe when I upgraded to the new Kleo release and deleted BuddyPress and added it again – that fixed the problem?
Thank you for your patience and your help; it’s always very much appreciated!!
Best,

ModeratorI am happy that you can do it now 🙂 I am always happy to help so do not worry 🙂

ParticipantHi Laura – I see that I have another release to update. Should I be nervous? Will I need to delete all BuddyPress plugins again and re-add them?
Thanks,

ModeratorCheck the changelog of the new release to be sure if it touches things that you do not want to update, and keep a backup of the other version just in case
