Header is too big on tablet

Hi I thought I had solved the problem of the header expanding, which i did on the pc view. However on the ipad the header area loads and 3/4 of the height of the Ipad and will only adjust if you scroll down the the bottom of the page. Even then however it still jumps back. I am not a programmer so I would be gratful for any advice in simple terms, thank you 🙂
