Hi,
I’m having some huge difficulties with my site. I should’ve seen and/or realised it sooner, but unfortunately I haven’t. I had hired a person to help me setup the Sweetdate theme. I first saw this theme and I completely fell in love with it, but I had NO WordPress experience, so I hired a guy to setup the theme, while I got schooling in WordPress… … To make a long story short. This guy took my money made a complete mess and is completely unreachable for months now, he suddenly went dark! I’ve done a pretty good job of cleaning up the mess he left and making the way I want it to be, but there are still a couple of huuge problems I can’t solve.
1st. editing profile’s for subscribers and/or all other members. This should be available for everyone from the start, but it’s not even possible for me! (See pic. settins and edit). The only way for me to do it is by going all the way in the top corner and hover over my picture from the wordpresss toolbar and click edit profile, but all other users don’t have this option, so they can’t edit their profile. They can only change their password! I’ve tried so many different things. I also tried using all kinds of plugins, but the solution never comes.
2nd. the picture (complete fields list) shows all the fields I get, right after pressing button “import buddypress profile fields”. As you can see there is NO radius field. This is a huge problem for me and I don’t know how to make that field myself or how to get it back.

You can change the fields at Users > Profile fields, the ones you show at the complete fields are only for the search form, those checkboxes are to choose which one appears at which form ( horizontal, vertical )For users, to edit their profile is not at SETTINGS, Its at PROFILE> EDIT at their profile page

thanks for the reply, but i see that I made some unclear screenshots, therefore I send you the right screenshots which will better illustrate the magnitude of the problem.
Please re-read my question/problems again, but look at the following screenshots. (I name them the same as the before screenshots adding a 2 at the settings and edit screenshot and acomplete fileds list i re-send in 2 parts screenshot 2a and 2b)Kind Regards

Of course I will send you another screenshot, but as I already send you two screenshots before, named ‘complete fields list 2a’ and ‘2b’.So I’ll try the following to help you understand the problem. First again I give you a list of the fields available in the myself summery group (Nearly the entire list of available fields is on the screenshot, but trust me the radius field is not there!). Then the logical thing to do is create the field myself, but I can’t because the option for a radius field is not there. (see screenshot add field). I’ve seen that the Sweetdate theme comes with a radius field packaged within, but yet it’s not there (because of the damage this hired person did as I told you before),
AND I’m unable to create one. I hope this explains it better.Kind Regards

I found a way to better explain what I mean by the radius field. To begin with I think I you call the field ‘RADIOS’ and not radius. In the tutorial you have in the support section please follow the link:At 9 min 46 sec till about 10 min 15 sec you can clearly see a radios field that’s the field I’m talking about. That’s the field I really want to have/make, but I don’t know how to make it myself and importing doesn’t make any difference.

I reacted to soon with joy, because the first problem remains!!! You have done some stuff to my site, which I thought had solved the problem, but it did not. Please forget the radius field question I asked in between, I’m NOT interested in it for now. I was pre-occupied with some other stuff and therefore didn’t take enough time to really take a look at the things you had done.
You apparently made some kind of searchengine,
while I’m trying to explain to you that I have a problem with the editing of profiles on my site. I’m trying so long and hard to explain this problem to you, why are you not understanding even after you have entered my site?
Must I take more screenshots or what did I explain wrong? And you have logged in on my site. Haven’t you pressed the big profile button and seen what happens. Or if you DO understand what I’m trying to explain, but in your eyes there is no problem at all, Then will you please explain to me why I can’t or any other member on my site can’t edit their own profile!!!You made some kind of search engine, which I could have done myself!! I already have a complete separate searchpage as you could have seen the site now has 3 three different search machines, but NOT 1 way to edit a profile

You know, I think I have finally found a way to make you understand my problem! Why don’t you go ahead and make a profile on my website. You subscribe to my website and after you have done that, wait for the confirmation email and confirm your subscription and then go back to your newly made account and try to edit/add more information to your profile/ account and then you Laura tell me what you think!Kind regards

I just can’t understand why you made another search form. This whole situation is getting ridiculously frustrating this way.
The situation on my site that I need help with is:“People can’t edit their profile once it’s made!”
Is this not proper English? Why don’t you understand or see this situation?

You have been replying every day so your post has been moving down on the queue so i didnt see it. Please wait at least 24h for an answer before replying again or your post will move down ( because the queue orders the post by the last answer, if the last answer is recent, the post goes down)
So, the issue is that people cant edit their profile? I tested it before, to edit the profile go to Profile, once at the profile go to Profile > Edit, last time i tested it worked.
Please understand i am here to help you, your issue was related to someone that broke your site, i am trying to help you fix it, but that is not related to how the theme works as its a human error.
So it would help me if you knew what that person did exactly or list me the stuff that dont work.

where is this Profile > Edit located exactly. I send you a picture before, where I showed you that there’s NO SUCH THING as a edit link or button!
It might seen dumb to you, but I simply can’t find that edit location you are talking about. The only person who’s able to edit his own, or any other profile is the administrator.
Just show me the location so we can finally put this thing to rest. Look at the screenshots (settings and edit)THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS AND EDIT BUTTON!!!!!
AND THERE’S NO WAY FOR MEMBERS TO EDIT THEIR OWN PROFILE!!!!
You say yes there IS. Why don’t you show me some kind of picture or link me to some kind of FAQ, where I can learn and understand how it works.
Because I’m thinking you just mean the top right corner where the administrator who’s logged in on the wordpress backend can edit through the
menu > edit my profilePLEASE understand that this is taking months already and I still haven’t found a way to do it. If it’s really true, as you say it is, then show me some picture, but NOT: “profile > edit)
I can’t find the word edit! Even When I search the page for the word edit the word is NOT FOUND!! Where is it located?!?!Kind regards

I’m trying to find a solution for months . I’m contacting you for weeks. Just explain to me better. SEE the screenshots. I send you, THREE IS NO SUCH THING AS go to profile > edit as you say.
First screenshot: named , profile button, there I press the PROFILE button. I even encircled it for you!!!!!
Second screenshot: named, edit page THAT’S THE PAGE I LAND ON WHEN I PRESS THE profile button and there is NO SUCH thing as go to PROFILE > EDIT there. Where do you see this edit on that page ?!?!(this reply belongs with the above one from November 23, 2016 at 11:47 #145091, but I’m already starting to suspect that you’ll refuse to properly answering and give me some unclear reply so I’ll have to wait 24hras before my next reply. the proper way like everybody else. Because of your theme I began to study WordPress,

It is not there!!November 25, 2016 at 10:00 #145297LauraModeratorHello, all i see are a lot of changes to the thee, you edited a lot of things and this issue is created by that. The best way to fix it is to reinstall sweetdate. I cant locate what change you did exactly because as i see there is not only the child theme files but also sweetdate main theme.
Please, delete sweetdate and install it again and let me know. You may activate the main theme after the install so we can check if its the child theme changes.
Nobody called you criminal, i think that is going a bit too far. I am trying to understand the issue and help you, but as the issues are related to the custom codes i cant locate then the solution is a reinstall.
As you can see in the theme demo, there IS a way to edit the profile ( just login use demo demo and you will see )

I needed to decide, if I was going to do e fresh re-install or simply edit and try to repair the damage the person I hired had done. As you now made it clear that that was an impossible job. I DELETED, RESET and RE-INSTALLED everything from scratch. Now everything works exactly as in the demo, except for missing profile fields. I’ve been asking you about a missing profile field called ‘radios’, but after studying the DEMO I noticed that not only am I missing one profile field. I’m missing 2 entire profile groups. Other persons, also opened topics about this, for example (#135057).
But I think it’s better, if I open a new topic for that.I do want to thank you for everything, you really have been a help.
