Hide some activiy

Hi 7th queen, by default when a new user registers or changed profile or become new friends it shows on the activity stream (name is now friends with name or name just changed profile or name just became a registered member) please is there a way i can stop that from showing on activity stream? (stop the new friendships from showing up and new profile update and new friendships) just those the other activities can show up except for those mentioned. Thanks. Great theme

that code was submitted 6 years ago… i wanted to try that but was warned it doesn’t work on the new buddypress. is there an alternative? or a code one could use on functions.php?
