Hi guys
I have a WordPress based site that I’ve been running now for nearly 10 years.
I have a number of posts where I would like to disable comments as I would prefer to refer people to my forums.
My problem is, when I disable the comments, all the historical comments become invisible on the page.
I want to be able to stop new comments from being posted by closing them but keep the comments posted up to that point displayed under the post.
In many instances the SEO benefits of the comments is what has brought people to my website in the first place so I don’t want to lose this simply because I choose to stop new comments from being posted.
I know this is how the comments work on a standard wordpress install with the default theme, is there anything I can change or edit to stop the old comments being made invisible when they are disabled?
Thanks in advance
Mark
