Yes is possible but need to do hard changes to the template files. We plan to add Homepage Slideshow function in near feature, still testing some sliders from the market.

yes, I have the same question for you for the slider.
I made some tests with “revolution slider” in the sweet date theme , but I didn’t made it work.
I hope you will finally choose “revolution slider” , because I believe is one of the best sliders!
