As of now, I want to allow everybody who logged in to have access to the entire content. Right now things are working pretty good however, when a logged in user is trying to send private message by clicking on “Private message” button next to his profile image to another member (either friend or not) he is redirected to the membership page. However if he clicks on public message and than switch in the message options to send it as private, it works fine.
How can this be solved ?
Thanks.

The two features you show are different functions. Screenshot one shows activity updates which are essentially small posts within BuddyPress. The drop down shows the privacy settings for the activity update. The second screenshot shows the private messaging function which is an exchange of messages between two or more users.
Can you give me more information on what issue it is you’re facing and what you’re trying to achieve to I can assist you better?
Thanks,
Kieran

April 22, 2018 at 13:34 #195663lusienParticipantHi Kieran,
Many thanks for your support and clarifications. As initially mentioned I want to allow everybody who logged in to have access to the entire content. It means I do not want users to be redirected to the Membership page when they click on the “Private message” button next to their profile picture. Right now this is the behavior for logged in users.
Thanks for letting me know how to solve this problem.
Regards.
April 22, 2018 at 16:12 #195669Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
If users are being sent to the memberships page of Paid Memberships Pro then it is likely you have restricted messaging to X package within Paid Memberships Pro. You can open this up for your users by going to WP Admin > SweetDate > Tab: ‘Memberships’ and set the field for ‘Restrict users from sending private messages’ to ‘No’ or ‘Restrict Certain Levels’ – depending on your requirements. I have attached a screenshot to this reply of where you will find this setting.
If however you are referring to the member page rather than membership page then this is the correct and expected behavior as messages (inbox, sent, compose etc) all live within the individuals profile.
Thanks,
Kieran

Right. I went several times though those setting but I missed that filter. Thanks for highlighting the solution to me. I will mark the issue as resolved.
