    Hello,

    I have several questions:

1). I’m trying to made a change to the style.css file per instructions contained on this help topic below:

    https://archived.seventhqueen.com/kleo/article/right-hand-dropdown-menu-cut-off

My issue is that I don’t know where is the style.css file I should be changing. When I installed Kleo/Kleo Child, I had to upload into WP Admin a zip file called “kleo-child”. And I put that file just on my desktop screen. Should I just change the style.css file as contained in this particular kleo-child zip folder? If that’s the case, do I need to upload kleo-child into WP-Admin once more? Otherwise, how would WordPress know about the change to style.css?

Would I achieve the same effect by inserting the snippet of code by clicking on the “customize” button on top of the “Active: Kleo Child” image in Appearance/Themes/  ?

2). A similar question is where is “wp-content/themes/kleo-child/functions.php? and how do I make changes? As I want to add something to functions.php per instructions below:

    https://archived.seventhqueen.com/kleo/article/get-and-use-logged-in-username-variable-in-menu

3). I’m trying to set up the Menus in Apperance/Menus. But I’m a little confused about which page(s) to use or link into the Menu. For instance, from Kleo Demo Data I imported, there is the a page called “Activity”, and in BuddyPress section, there is also a page called “Activity”, are they the same? Which one should I use in Menu?

4). In the Kleo “Community” demo, once the user is logged in, the Primary Menu item “My Account” would change into User specific selections. How do I duplicate the same effect? Do I need to follow the instruction as below?

    https://archived.seventhqueen.com/kleo/article/get-and-use-logged-in-username-variable-in-menu

Or would the BuddyPress pages automatically become invisible or visible depending if the user is logged in or not?

5). Still in Menus, under the Kleo section, there is the description of

With BuddyPress/bbPress installed you can add a link to your profile with ##profile_link## in the URL input from Links section bellow. Example: ##profile_link##/messages.    You can also include the members username next to the My Account avatar with ##member_name## in the Title Attribute field.  ”

These are features I would like to know more about, but I don’t really understand the above description. Can you help by provide some concrete examples?

6). So obviously Kleo Child is the active theme I’m using. But is it possible to load pages from other themes? I know the answer is most likely “no”, but just thought I should ask.

7). Lastly, is it possible to get technical support via phone? Trying to describe some of the details on these difficult-to-describe topics are just very painful. It would be so much easier if I can just talk to someone.

Apologies for the long message and the many questions. Thank you for your patience!  🙂

Hello 🙂 KLEO-CHILD should be installed as a theme in wordpress and activated, so instead of using KLEO, use the child one as the theme 🙂
And style.css can be found at Appearance > Edit or at website files, wp-content/themes/kleo-child/style.css 🙂
Functions is also at Appearance > Edit and also at wp-content/themes/kleo-child/functions.php 🙂

3- Buddypress section pages are member related, so it links to profile subpages, while pages are the global pages. Activity is activity directory while activity at buddypress is the member activity page

4- At Appearance > Menu add the menu item my account and add ##username## it should use the username ( add the function to functions.php )

5- For example, using my Account menu item it would show the user avatar, but you want it to also how the name, so at the title attribute you add ##member_name##
Or maybe you want to link directly to the current user Social Articles ( which doesnt have a link by default at buddypress section as its a plugin ) then you would use ##profile_link##/articles as the link.

6- Depends. If by pages you mean style. Its possible with two options
1- By copying the CSS and needed functions of the theme to use the style for the page
2- By using this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/jonradio-multiple-themes/

7- Sadly we do not provide phone support, but i will be here and happy to help you so go ahead and describe anything you need 🙂
