    Hi Everyone,

If a male logs into my site and searches for a female, he has to select “male” (I am field) and female (looking for field) when performing his search. Is it possible to have these defaulted so that he does not have to use those fields? I want to hide the “I am” and “looking for” fields and only have a “city” field for searches, but I don’t want males to show up in someones list who is looking for only females (and visa-versa).

    Many thanks,
    Ryan

Hello, You need to configure those two field as Matching fields in Sweetdate – Buddypress to have the correct results. We did this in the initial setup video tutorial: https://archived.seventhqueen.com/video-tutorials

Thanks Abe, however, I think my question wasn’t too clear 🙁

With the matching fields set, is it possible for a user to search without having to always select “I am” and “I am looking for”? I want to remove the two fields from the search form because the user already sets this when he creates his profile and I don’t see the need for him to select it again when he does his search.

An example would be to use a search form that only has the age and location fields. If I go to this search form now, it returns a list of results that include both males and females.

    Many thanks, Ryan

    Hi @frien337
I understand now what you want but can’t be done by default. You need to develop this functionality.

    Cheers

We can’t promise anything. You can always hire a developer from microlancer for example to extend default functionalities.

Thanks Abe – it’s not too important now and I will have a look at Microlancer in the New Year for some custom developments.
