I imported the demo content and set the homepage, but it is blank

After install everything including the essential plugins “k-element” and “visual composer”, and they are up to date.

So I go to setting-reading and set up my static front page to Home News Magazine. 

And I config the theme option, I set the excerpt to 25, the homepage still shows the whole post, and I set the excerpt to 0, it still shows the whole post.

I think it is because of my posts are in Chinese, so it has to be count as characters or letters.  I even turn off the excerpt and put read more in the posts, it didn’t work out either.

Is there any solution for me?

I installed an easy custom auto excerpt plugin, and it worked out fine, my excerpt is normal again.

But that plugin cannot run with the theme properly, my homepage turns blank if I use it.

Is there anyway I  can just disable all the excerpt on my homepage? or display normal excerpt.

Thanks for your help.
I tried to put an English post on it, the excerpt looks fine.
I used to have the same problem too, but after I set excerpt by letters it’s good.
But I don’t know where can I set the excerpt.
