I am using the Kleo theme with buddypress and I noticed that the image cropping was not working for profile avatars. I opened up the console and was presented with the error Uncaught TypeError: i.Jcrop is not a function in the file http://www.emberofdreams.com/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-core/js/avatar.min.js?ver=2.6.1.1

I tried disabling the Kleo theme and using the standard 2015 theme and the cropping of avatar images works as expected.

I have attached a log of the error.

    Hi Radu,

Wordpress was already on the latest version. I have updated any out of date plugins and also the Kleo theme. The issue still remains, no crop area appears when uploading an avatar image.

Can you let me know if there is anything else I can try.

    Kindest regards,

    Felix

Maybe it will need to de-activate all plugins and also the child theme for some minutes for testing, it’s ok ?

    Hi,

I cannot see that, but i’ve saw this in wp admin

http://www.emberofdreams.com/wp-content/plugins/better-wp-security/E:/Hosti…ins/better-wp-security/core/modules/strong-passwords/js/script.js?ver=4041 Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found)

I think also the another problem is caused by the security of this plugin :

Also when i’ve tried to upload an image i’ve receive this : Upload Failed! Error was: Unable to create directory wp-content/uploads/avatars/21/avatars/21. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

You will have to set permission 755 to the uploads folder (wp-content/uploads/)

So, de-activate the security plugin and try again.

    Cheers

    Hi Radu,

I have deactivated the security plugin and the issue still persists. I have also not encountered any issues with uploading any files.

Ok in this case disable all plugins except buddypress and also disable child theme and try again, if it works, enable back child theme and try again, if it works enable plugins back one by one and check to can identify what plugin causes this.

With latest version of wp,kleo and the recommended plugins this should not happens ! Check for updates in wp-admin -> appearance -> install plugins

    Cheers
