So I bought the theme and downloaded, unzipped the content, followed all the rules to the install process and then when trying to import the demo content, it didn’t seem to work. This is my first experience with a parent and child theme and I was so confused, do I edit in the parent or the child? Which do I activate?
Anyway, I started customizing and nothing seemed to be working out (I’ve used WordPress in the past so I’m not sure why this was so difficult. But the Frontend editing tool was awful, I couldn’t click or change anything at all. I was so lost that I said screw it, I’m going to start over!
So, I deleted the templates and the pages and I wanted to start from scratch by reinstalling the theme. Unfortunately, as soon as I re-installed, it was like absolutely nothing had changed! All I want is a static front page, a blog page, members and directory pages, and forum!! Why is this so difficult? How do I fix it?
The reviews for this were great and I’ve been disappointed and lost this whole process despite the documentation. I can’t even start adding content because it’s so hard to set the damn thing up.
Sorry for ranting, I’m just annoyed. Is this theme meant for programmers to use? Was I too presumptuous to think I could handle it? Help please.
