I just had a question. Instead of using a recaptcha plugin I edited some php to get it working.
My question is if added some code to the kleo_register.php, header.php and to the register.php, all of them are in the kleo theme files.
Now I use the child theme and I know once I update kleo I will most likely lose the code I added.will I be able to copy all those files to the child theme?
If I update kleo and if the update by chance had changes made to kleo_register.php,header.php or register.php
Will I be able to get those updates without tampering with the new added code? Or would I have to manually add it again?
April 12, 2017 at 13:22 #158298LauraModeratorHello, if you want to edit any theme file, you have to copy them to the child theme following the same path of folders, for example header.php would be at the main child theme folder but members-loop.php would need to be inside members folder so themes/kleo-child/members
This way your changes are not lost after an update but as you said if the update modifies any of those files you may not see the changes, if its something added to the file, you will see it, but if its a changed done to the current code you may not see it as your file has the old version
