Image gallery caption

Hi guy,

I’ve just discovery that the VC image gallery hasn’t image caption. I mean image caption displayed in the large photo and the lightbox.

I know you are working on this for the single image: https://archived.seventhqueen.com/forums/topic/enable-caption-in-prettybox

This is really a bad news for me.  It’s a blocking missing feature. Sad to discover it right now. On my historical website, photos caption and description count as the photo in itself. How I can show a gallery of navy ships from WWII without being able to even show their name, year and so on in the lightbox?

Looking on VC website I see that while they do not expose image caption/description property in their image gallery:

I saw other themes that using the same VC image gallery have implemented this feature. Two examples:

Caption is into the lightbox.

How I can overcome this? My bad but this is really a blocking missing feature.

Should I install another gallery after buying Kleo?

I’m trying to use VC media grid or masonry media grid to replace a proper gallery.
On VC video tutorial on media grid I see that photos are opened in prettyphoto lightbox:

On my installation my photos open without lightbox. Morevoer I see pagination missing and other differencies.
Is it normal?

I have to understand if I can trust on Kleo or I need to install another gallery and another lightbox or even switch to another theme before going live.

Hi,

We are working on the single image element for the caption on pop-up also we will need to do this also the images gallery.

As you can see on my theme install the lightbox works by default using media grid element: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bxo5b6iHWRMwQURLb2RiUkZjWG8/view

On your website the lighbox not works using media grid element from VC ? if no de-activate all plugins excluding the visual composer and if still not works de-activate the child theme to test
Also check if you have any update available in wp-admin -> appearance -> install plugins

Hi Radu,

It works. Problem was originating by having a standard WP gallery and a media grid in the same post. Some js conflict. Now I have only the media grid and it works.

Of course even the media grid display only image titles nor caption or description.

I look forward to see image caption on lightbox in your image and media gallery

We have already done this you can wait until the theme update or you can replace those content files

/wp-content/themes/kleo/vc_templates/vc_gallery.php with this one : http://pastebin.com/raw/aUYfqUi8

You should enable development mode to can use un-minified version of app.js from wp-admin -> theme options -> miscellaneous

Now using Image GAllery element from VC you will see the new option

in front end :
