Hi Team,
I’ve used “User Submitted posts” Plug-in to enable users to create posts on my website – http://www.thegreatapes.org. I am facing an issue displaying the images from the posts on the home page.
Once a post is created by the users only the text shows up from the post on the home page without the image. However, once someone opens up the post and then comes back to the Home page the image on the post starts displaying.
It should ideally get displayed automatically.
Please let me know the fix to this problem at the earliest!!!
Best,
Arindam

Can you please try disabling your WordPress caching solution, clear your browser cache (Ctrl+F5) whilst viewing the homepage, then create a new post. Does the issue persist?
Thanks,
Kieran

The problem exists for other users also. I’ve still tried deleting the cache solution while viewing the homepage. The problem still persists.
Please suggest something else.

To confirm, as it is important, you disabled the caching before deleting your browser cache and kept it disabled for the test?
If this is correct and the issue persists then please update this ticket, in a private reply, with admin credentials for your site so I can look into it further.

To test this I will need your permission to disable plugins and switch themes, is this okay? If it is not then please provide staging access too.
Thanks,
Kieran

November 5, 2018 at 00:49 #212823arindamkalraParticipantHey!
If you change everything, I hope we won’t lose out on any of the posts updated already. And, would you be able to set everything back to the current design setting?
You can carry on with the changing themes if we can have the same website back after the changes.
If not, let’s figure out a way to do that. because I plan to go live tomorrow evening.
Thanks,
ArindamNovember 5, 2018 at 14:36 #212847Kieran_SQModeratorHi,
I have done some testing and found that the issue is coming from the plugin that is used to submit posts from the front-end, User Submitted Posts.
If you create a post from the back-end, WP Admin > Posts > Add New, the issue does not exist. The only time it can be replicated is when using the front-end form from USP.
You’ll need to reach out to the plugin developer for assistance with this as we cannot debug third party plugins. You can reach out to the plugin developer here https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/user-submitted-posts/.
If you get no response from the developer or if they believe they cannot fix the issue you may wish to try alternate form plugins like Caldera, Gravity Forms, Contact Form 7 etc to handle your front-end submissions.
On a side note if you are going to submit data this way your site definitely needs an SSL certificate. Your host should offer one for free or a small fee. It’s worth looking into for encryption of data and passwords as well as the SEO factor.
Thanks,
Kieran

Thank you so much for looking into the issue in depth. Really appreciate it!
I’ve already applied for the SSL certificate. It is on its way. Will come through shortly. Thank you for your the suggestion!
Marking the issue resolved as it is something I’ll take up with the plugin developer now.
