Importing Forum to BuddyApp from WordPress Site using BuddyPress & bbPress

Hi Support!

We just purchased BuddyApp, so we could separate our Forum from our new WordPress site (Bridge). Can you please explain how we can IMPORT our bbPress and BuddyPress (or do these 2 use same Tables?) from our WordPress site to BuddyApp? In the backend of BuddyApp, we went to Tools>Forums>Import Forums per the instructions online, and entered in the following info, but are not sure if this is correct. Please see (Attachment) BuddyApp Backend.

Select Platform: bbPress1 (Is this the correct one to choose if we have both BuddyPress & bbPress?)

Database Server: localhost

Database Port: 3306

Database Name: appsummi_wp513 (Main website)

Database User: appsummi_wp513

Database Password: password

Table Prefix: wp_bb_  (Not sure what this should be.)

After I select the database (appsummi_wp513) in phpMyAdmin, it shows me all of the Table Prefixes starting with “wphy_”, then “wphy_bp_”. Are wphy_bp_ the Table Prefixes I need to import to BuddyApp…and, can I ignore the rest of the Table Prefixes? Please see phpMyAdmin (Attachment).

It looks like both of our databases are listed in phpMyAdmin, so is there a way I can just copy and paste the Table Prefixes I need from the WordPress site to the BuddyApp database within phpMyAdmin? Instead of using Tools>Forums>Import Forums?

Hi,

This it seems to be not a theme problem.

Please check the bbpress docs about this : https://codex.bbpress.org/getting-started/importing-data/import-forums/custom-import/

Why you have copied entire old install and to use it in the new site with the new theme ?
Yoy can do with one of those plugins :

Hi Radu,

I have already read through your link https://codex.bbpress.org/getting-started/importing-data/import-forums/custom-import/, and have also read https://codex.bbpress.org/getting-started/importing-data/import-forums/, but the examples given do not exactly pertain to our situation. It does not show us how to proceed for our particular case. I also read that the destination website forum should be upgraded to bbPress 1.2 in order for the import to work…is this true?

I would like to know which Table Prefix to use, so I can import just the forum content only, and not the whole WordPress site.

We are using WP (Bridge) for the website, and BuddyApp for the Forum.

I have already provided you with access logins to see what I’m referring to, as well as screenshots.

We basically just want to import the Forum Data from WP Bridge to BuddyApp.

Please explain and provide steps.

Hi,

personally, I did not need to move bb press or WP (Bridge) to another wp installation so I cannot provide the exact steps to follow for your situation, but from my point of view I recommend you copy all installation then clean-up….. then install the buddyapp theme and you are fine.

There are my suggested strategy.
