Theme wont install. error message ” are you sure you want to do that”. I have wordpress 4. I follow your video tut but my files dont look like your (sweetdate.zip) folder. Mine just says (sweetdate) and when selected and click install theme, I got the error message above.

Please help with install steps for sweetdate vs 2.6.3 and wordpress 4.0. Steps look different than your video tut for start up install. Not too happy, help please. Thanks.

    Hello,

The archive that you download from theme forest needs to be unpacked… the theme .zip and the child theme .zip are located in /Wordpress sub folder. Take a look at my screenshots…

Let me know if this helps.

    Thank you,
    Catalin

    1) I did unpack the theme as shown above and inside the wordpress folder mine says “sweetdate” but not (sweetdate.zip) and sweetdate-child but not (sweetdate-child.zip). So there’s no .zip, but I don’t know if that is relevant to anything since the “file type” on the title bar is shown as “compressed zip).

    2) In uploading theme, When I browse and select Sweetdate to upload the theme, I keep getting a wordpress failure message: Are you sure you want to do that. Please try again.

    3) But if I browse and select the “child-theme” wordpress installs it. but I get this message: BROKEN THEME:The following themes are installed but incomplete. Please install parent theme.

So it works for the child theme folder but not the parent theme folder.

So what is wrong or missing from the Sweetdate folder. I tried to unzip it and upload it that way to no avail. Is there another method of installing the theme.

please help, I’m at my wit end

inside my wordpress folder looks like this:

    Name Type Compressed size
    .DS_Store DS_STORE FILE 1 KB
    sweetdate Compressed (zipped)Folder 4116 KB
    sweetdate-child Compressed (zipped)Folder 154 KB

so it doesn’t look like yours and I downloaded it 3 times and they all look the same. I don’t know if the above setting is equivalent to your setting sweetdate.zip . Over the weekend I will look at some tutorial on manual install which seems a lot more complicated than the browse, upload way.

from your description, they look the same… sweetdate.zip and sweetdate-child.zip … you just have to follow the 1-6 steps I attached to this…

You never answer the question. I asked if sweetdate.zip is the same with sweetdate with no .zip extension next to the word sweetdate. The file I downloaded 3 times does not have the .zip extension. inside the folder is a file that says sweetdate.. that’s it, there is no extension .zip next to it.

That is my question: is sweetdate.zip (your pic) is the same with sweetdate (like mine) with no .zip extension next the word sweetdate?

they are the same… you should see the file type “.zip” in the file properties window (I use Windows)
