Is it possible to have text appear over an image?

Hi, I have some images on this page that have text embedded in the image that serves to link to other pages:

http://198.20.99.146/~neueharm/  (the 6 boxes in the center)

Is there a way to use images as a backgroud in these cells and then have the text float on top and link to other pages. Right now the text is fuzzy because it’s embedded in the image. I thought there might be another way to do this.

Hello, so have a box with a background image, then text INSIDE of it ( like you have now ) with a link or linked to a page? or the text ABOVE the image?
