Issue Adding pdf on homepage

Wondering if you could help me, I’m trying to add a pdf on the homepage using the function in the picture. It works flawlessly when adding on a post, when using the Visual composer it scrolls back to the top of the page and does not give an option to add.

Hello, please try to deactivate some plugins to see if it works, you can also add an url directly to the pdf on a button element
